    Hello friend! Only reservation i have is foam rolling the lower back - most people are already hyper extended in the lower back

    • @YourWellnessNerd
      @YourWellnessNerd Час назад

      The idea with the foam roller is that it’s a tool that can help mobilise stiffness in the joints of the spine. Whether it’s a foam roller or lacrosse ball, or a good massage, or having someone mobilise those areas specifically it doesn’t really matter.

    Question about the scalenes, has there been any evidence of them being tight enough to cut off blood flow? I have circulation issues in the hands that get better temporarily stretching them, and no signs of compression anywhere else according to MRIs.

    Marathoner here. Developed outside ankle pain in the right side during my last marathon prep. Nothing crazy but felt it. Strength training helped a lot. But my ankles still clicked and after hard session I still feel a small pain. Now I did your foam rolling exercixes and felt instant relief. Tissue felt relaxed and my ankle clicked really loud afterwards. I think there was a lot of tension in the muscles. Strength training is fine, but I think it also adds tension to the muscles. Need to find a good balance between running, strength training, stretching and foam rolling. What do you think about massage guns? I think i can do that sheering and moving while using it as well? Thanks from germany, keep up the great work. I will definitely incorporate your exercises in my routine!

    Will this help arthritis in cervical neck ?I believe its my facet joints have become atrhritic as I did get an x ray, was told osteoarthritis. play lots of tennis and I used to practice my serve a lot as you have to tilt head in a tough position. After playing 5 days a week for the last 9 years, I am 61 still playing just rarely practice serve. In the past everything I have tried for neck muscles just seem to make it more sore as the facet joint seems to be the root ?

I do pec stretch, Tai Chi (from the Channel "Begin with breath Tai Chi", he is a physical therapist) and Animal Flow every morning (last one is very demanding and sometimes painful but I think will help my back long term). I thought of heart issues and becaue of hurting little bumps around my ribs of breast cancer, sooooo much fear and struggle but it is all because of the long term harmful positions I spent my days for years.

    trigger finger??? I am told by a Naturpath that the issue is in the fascia and lympth..backed up lymph that needs to be addressed w/diet and proper protocols for lymph an kidney to get the lympth flow again and dislodge obstacles, so I'm told that these functional things don't really work in the long term unless these other things are addressed as well. Have you heard this also?

    • @YourWellnessNerd
      @YourWellnessNerd 2 дня назад

      Hi Johanna! For me, diet and lymph may be related but they are generally more global issues - and may not be specific enough to explain why one exact part of the body has become dysfunctional. Technically, most people could benefit from an improvement in those things so they’re clearly not irrelevant!

    • @YourWellnessNerd
      @YourWellnessNerd 3 дня назад

      Slides tend to be better because you don’t need to use your big toe to hold them on your feet. They’re still not as ideal as sandals that self secure at the back, but typically they’re better than flip-flops in comparison.

  • @csp9683

    So would you say that pec minor tightness in combination with the posterior tightness would cause forward head posture due to tightened neck muscles as a result of compensation along with brachial plexus restrictions and potential breathing difficulties?

    • @YourWellnessNerd
      @YourWellnessNerd 2 дня назад

      From a general perspective, the starting point is often poor postures and shapes due to environmental things like using your phone, watching TV, etc. The joints of the neck and upper back/rib cage can become stiff and restricted as a result, prompting muscles that attached to those areas to become tight - of which the pecs are included in that conversation.

    Got into them a little over a year ago, hoping to fix my many problems. The foot soreness is easily overcome by breaking into them slowly. And I do feel they make my feet stronger. However, these days I feel that my barefoots are appropriate for some activities (like the gym, boxing, cleaning house, etc) but if I’m doing a lot of walking or standing (especially on concrete or pavement) I’m better off with more support. Even then, I think wide toe box shoes that aren’t quite barefoot (like Altras , for example) are a good thing. I also noticed that -at this time - much of the physiotherapist community has not all officially jumped onboard with barefoot shoes. Correct me if I’m wrong, of course. Thanks for all the great videos.

    This is a very good video mate, especially identifying ribcage / thoracic as the reason why the ac would become separated. and also saying that the reason the pec gets tight constantly is it is being put in a shortened position by the ribcage. the only thing i would add here is that there are ways to go at it without the massage ball. breathing exercises in a variety of positions, using gravity to assist and also using a variety of reaches (high reach v low reach) biases air into different parts of the ribcage resulting in expansion of the jammed up areas, if drills are done well enough the ribcage becomes mobile again. it's too late for my AC though ha ha

      Press ups are essentially a normal human movement that everyone, in an ideal world, should feel able to do at some point. If press ups cause someone pain and dysfunction then it doesn’t mean they’re bad for them, it just means that it’s something to aim to feel comfortable being able to do at some stage later down the track once their individual symptoms have improved enough.
